The Qur’ān
and The Moon ‘Knowing’ Truth and ‘tasting’ Truth are not the same! Unless and until you fly on the wings of time, swim in the ocean of time, lose consciousness of time in a timeless world, you have not as yet ‘tasted’ Truth! The Qur’ān must be recited with the ‘moon’, and then studied like the ‘stars’, precisely for that excitement—to ‘taste’ Truth! Those whose moon is located in Saudi Arabia or Morocco, even though they are resident in London, do not know that, and perhaps will never know it. But you, our gentle readers, now know it; so, travel on with the Qur’ān, and one day, perhaps, you may be blessed with an exciting experience of timelessness, —and, eventually, the ‘taste’ of Truth!

Dajjal’s Footprints in Time, Session 1 Sacred Time, Secular Time, and the End Times
🕌 In this first session of a two-part lecture delivered ...at San Fernando Jama Masjid in Trinidad & Tobago in April 2026, Sheikh Imran N. Hosein introduces the subject of sacred time and examines how it has been progressively replaced and corrupted by the modern secular system of time.
⏳ The lecture opens by situating the discussion within the framework of Islamic eschatology, particularly the prophetic warning that, in the end times, people would perceive time to be moving faster and faster. Sheikh Imran argues that this does not mean time itself changes, but rather that human beings, having abandoned the divinely ordained system of sacred time, now suffer a distorted relationship with time, with serious consequences for spiritual balance, social order, and even mental well-being.
🌙 A major focus of the lecture is the distinction between sacred time and mechanical or secular time. Drawing upon the Qur’an, Hadith, and historical reflection, the speaker explains how sacred time is rooted in divine order, especially through the moon, the lunar month, and the structure of the day, week, month, and year. In contrast, modern civilization is described as having broken from this sacred order by adopting an artificial system that redefines the year, month, week, day, and hour according to secular priorities rather than divine guidance.
📖 The lecture further explores how this transformation affects not only calendars and rituals, but the entire rhythm of human life. Particular attention is given to the relationship between sacred time and the natural order, the significance of the lunar calendar, the Sabbath, the Islamic day beginning at sunset, and the spiritual meaning of the twelve hours of the day. Sheikh Imran also reflects on the connection between sacred time, worship, recitation of the Qur’an, moon-sighting, and the recovery of harmony between the human being and creation.
🧭 This session also includes important remarks on the importance of Islamic eschatology as an independent field of knowledge, the silence of much of contemporary Islamic scholarship on major end-time events, and the need to recover a Qur’anic methodology for understanding the age in which we live.
