The Qur’ān
and The Moon ‘Knowing’ Truth and ‘tasting’ Truth are not the same! Unless and until you fly on the wings of time, swim in the ocean of time, lose consciousness of time in a timeless world, you have not as yet ‘tasted’ Truth! The Qur’ān must be recited with the ‘moon’, and then studied like the ‘stars’, precisely for that excitement—to ‘taste’ Truth! Those whose moon is located in Saudi Arabia or Morocco, even though they are resident in London, do not know that, and perhaps will never know it. But you, our gentle readers, now know it; so, travel on with the Qur’ān, and one day, perhaps, you may be blessed with an exciting experience of timelessness, —and, eventually, the ‘taste’ of Truth!

🕌 In this lecture delivered at Point Fortin Masjid in ...Trinidad on 26 Muharram 1447 AH (2025), Sheikh Imran N. Hosein examines one of the most neglected dimensions of the Qur'an—how it should be recited in order to become a source of healing, protection, and guidance during the trials of the end times.
📘 The lecture begins by reflecting on Surah Al-'Asr, explaining that humanity has entered an age of immense loss, confusion, and moral decline. Sheikh Imran argues that true survival belongs only to those who hold firmly to faith, righteous conduct, truth, and patience.
🌙 A major focus of this lecture is the relationship between the recitation of the Qur'an, sacred time, and the lunar calendar. Drawing upon the Qur'an, Hadith, and Islamic eschatology, he explains why Muslims should reconnect with Allah's divinely ordained system of time by beginning each month's Qur'an recitation with the sighting of the crescent moon and following a structured monthly cycle of recitation.
📖 The discussion then develops into the methodology of Qur'anic recitation itself. Particular attention is given to the Prophet's ﷺ manner of receiving and reciting revelation, the importance of slow and reflective recitation (Tarteel), the distinction between revelation (Wahy) and recitation, and why understanding the Qur'an is inseparable from reciting it correctly.
🕊️ The lecture also explores the civilizational and spiritual crises of the modern world, including the collapse of the family, the banking system based on Riba, modern concepts of slavery, distorted perceptions of time, and declining mental health.
