Yes, I accept that the Negus of Abyssinia may have accepted in his heart that the Qur’an is indeed, the Word of the Lord-God, and that Muhammad (peace be on him) is indeed, His Messenger; – and in precisely the same way I now anticipate that there will be Orthodox Christians who will listen to what we have taught FROM THE QUR’AN about the role of Christians, and of Hagia Sophia, at the End of History, and will now choose to follow in the noble footsteps of the Christian King. But there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that the Christian King ever ceased to be a Christian (i.e., to be a member of the Ummah of Jesus – peace be on him) up to the moment of his death. There is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that the Christian King ever became a member of the Ummah of Nabi Muhammad at the time when the Prophet performed the funeral prayer for him (in absentia). As a consequence, Orthodox Christians who now accept the Qur’an to the the Word of the One God, and who now accept Muhammad to be a Prophet of that One God, do not have to leave the Ummah of Jesus, and join the Ummah of Muhammad (peace be on them both). They can remain Christians (i.e., followers of Jesus) until the end of the world! INH
